– Episode 1742 –

Christians Need to be Careful With Being too Hypercritical of Fellow Christians

Practice the rules of discernment and always consider the circumstances while judging.  Keep in mind the realm of concern and don’t get involved with issues if you’re not directly involved.  Our main concern as Christians is to always keep our main focus on Jesus regardless of anything else.

Segment 1 (0:00) – Christians need to be careful with being too hypercritical of fellow Christians.  When criticizing people, taking into consideration whether or not it is being constructive.

Segment 2 (9:14) – When there are big theological issues that somebody states, then those issues need to be addressed.  1 Timothy 5:1,19,20 Lovingly approach your brother about the issues, and if he corrects his error, then move one.  But otherwise, lovingly rebuke him preferably with other witnesses.  Consider your realm of concern.  If there is some scandal going on with someone who you don’t even know, then don’t get involved or share the gossip.  A Christian’s main focus should always be on Jesus.

Segment 3 (17:12) – Before jumping to criticize, assume the best in people and offer grace first.  In all cases, judge lovingly.
