Jesus In the Old Testament 1

There is a growing hostility throughout the world where Christian schools are being attacked, Church’s being restricted on what they are allowed to preach.  Simply put, the world is attacking anything that makes people feel shame or guilt.  Christians must start getting urgent in standing for orthodox faith.  How do we do this?  How can we reinforce the Biblical understanding and comprehension of our kids?  Is teaching them in understanding the covenants, and why we do communion really important?  Most importantly where is rest and hope for the Christian found?  It can be found in the Old Testament; pointing to the New Testament!


Segment 1 (0:00) – While on church business, how important is it to understand rightly what you are doing, and your purpose.  Are you sober minded, serious about the mission, is there an urgency of purpose?  Teaching kids the authority of the Bible is crucial to their growth and understanding.  Do you your kids understand scripture?  We reason with the world through the Bible.  We use scripture like the sword it is; always pointing to Jesus.  Referenced verses: John 5:6-11.

Segment 2 (10:04) – How can we keep our children from falling into sin when temptation comes?  One way is understanding typology.  This is the process where we find in the Old Testament that which foreshadows Jesus in the New Testament.  While very beneficial, we must be certain we do not wrongly use typology.  There can be a good intentioned lure to place these foreshadows of Jesus where they are not intended to be.  With the danger of misusing it; why is typology still so important?   Referenced verses: Hebrews 4, 1 Corinthians 15:23, John 7:37-38.

Segment 3 (17:31) – Helping our kids understand typology, and why we are to take every word found within scripture as vital is crucial to their future.  Understanding how the Old Testament points to Jesus; helps us to understand who Jesus is and why we need Him.  Referenced verses: Colossians 2:16-17
