John Rogers: Murdered In Front of His Family
Segment 1 (00:00) The reformers were brilliant men. One was John Rogers. He met William Tyndale and got saved through the Gospel. Rogers was instrumental to the translation of the first English bible.
Segment 2 (08:37) John Rogers notes were additional to William Tyndale’s notes on the Bible. He is the first commentary of the English Bible. John Rogers is elected to an important position in England during the reign of King Edward VI. This all changes when Mary becomes Queen of England.
Segment 3 (16:35) John Rogers was arrested by Mary, confined, and burned at the stake. As he was burning, he lifted his hands to Heaven and did not recant his stance on the truth. This inspired others to remain strong.
Wretched Surprise! (25:14) As John Rogers walked to the stake, he saw one of his children for the first time, who was born in the prison that his wife was held in. His children encouraged him, and while he was burning at the stake, the audience cheered for his testimony, not for his death.
