Aaron Rodgers: False Convert
Segment 1 (00:21) It is beneficial for us to stay within our theological lane – but when things like sports or politics become theological, it’s okay for us to take a look. Todd reviews clips from an interview with Aaron Rodgers, Green Bay Packers quarterback. When he was growing up, Aaron went to “young life”. He went on trips with young life, but he only talks about his experiences, not his relationship with Jesus. He claims he is no longer a Christian.
Segment 2 (08:58) If someone backslides in their faith then they never truly had the faith to begin with. Externally, people can look like they are Christians, but internally there is no heart change. A lot of individuals start to leave the faith once they get to university.
Segment 3 (18:28) Based on Aaron Rodgers’ interview, it seems that he never had any theological depth. Most of his opinions are based on feelings rather than truth. Just because there are aspects of the Christian faith that are binary, it does not mean that faith is not true. In fact, Aaron still lives his life based on binary systems, though he may not admit it.
Wretched Surprise! (25:49) There are flaws in Aaron Rodgers’ logic: God saves more people than 144,000. God does not want to send people to Hell.
