-Episode 2611-

How The Early Church Won The World

Segment 1 (00:20): You have to use words when you share the gospel. You are not saved by doing good deeds. Good deeds still serve a role in evangelizing, but they are not the only thing we are to do. The early church used good deeds alongside words to bring people to a desire and an understanding of the true God. Early Christians risked their lives for people they didn’t even know.

Segment 2 (08:21): Good deeds will show the unbeliever that what we are sharing with them is true. Good deeds allowed those who persecuted Christians to still recognize the goodness of early believers. The modern trend is to make the church look like the world. The good deeds that support the Good News make the message believable. We are to be different and a peculiar people.

Segment 3 (17:53): When the government pushes against the church, are you still loving? Is your church affecting the zip code around you? Does your church do anything to benefit your city? If you moved from your home would your neighbors notice your absence? Would they miss you if you weren’t around? What are your neighbors’ opinions of you?

Wretched Surprise! (25:46): It is not our strategy, but our good deeds that make our message believable. God loved us long before we repented, so we should love our family even if they are not saved or if we have had disagreements with them. We should go the extra mile.
