Segment 1 (00:00) Todd leads us through a list of things non-Christians counselors won’t tell you, written by David Powlison. “Believe in yourself” is something the world spouts, while Jesus says to deny yourself and die to yourself. Biblical counseling and non-biblical counseling are completely opposed.

Segment 2 (07:44) The Bible says our problem is internal, and our help comes from the Lord. The World says the problem is external and you need to find the solution within yourself. The world never mentions sin, and can’t diagnose our true sin problem. God, however, shows us we are sinful, and the penalty for sin, but also that God is graceful, and our sufferings are for a purpose.

Segment 3 (17:10) the Bible itself says it is sufficient for all of life and godliness, so why do Christians go to non-biblical counselors? A non-biblical counselor will never tell you that you should surrender to God’s will, not our own. We should use our God-given gifts to further God’s Kingdom and Glory, instead of seeking our own purpose.
