However, Carter finds it is very hard to let go of a works-based faith.

A complete robust theological statement is not required to qualify for the Kingdom. The doctrine of total depravity should be understood by every believer. If we meet someone (like Carter) who doesn’t have as deep an understanding on that doctrine as we do, we shouldn’t automatically think they’re not in the Kingdom.
