There has been a philosophy of the relationship between faith and government for a very long time.
We are beginning to grasp what a totalitarian regime would look like in America.
Abraham Kiper delivered a presentation in the late Nineteenth Century “Calvinism and Politics.”
Segment 2
The time in which we live does tend to skew much of our mindset on government.
What’s the role of government? What should we be encouraging them to do? How do you view the relationship between the church and the state?
“To the civil magistrate it is assigned, so long as we live among men to foster and maintain the Church.” Why did Calvin say such a thing?
Civil Magistrates are and remain God’s servants, whether they know it or not
Was Abraham Kiper a heretic?
If we start to separate based on Christian, political theory we are going to wind up on an island of one. God did not make us be neutral in regard to truth.
Every government is going to operate from a standard of morality, but which one is it?

How do we try to influence the government to have more Christian values?
1. Abandon neutrality.
2. No one has a right to commit wrong.
3. Avoid perfectionistic moralism.
