THE APOPLECTIC LEFT

Columnists on the left are angry over the Roe v Wade decision. Here are some of the arguments they’re using.

Wretched Radio | Air Date: June 30, 2022

Segment 1

The columnists are down right angry over the Roe v Wade decision.

A NY Times columnist suggests abortion rights come from the outlawing of slavery.

This is a pretty big stretch, as the original authors of the 13th Amendment were intent on abolishing slavery in the United States.

From the NY Time columnist – “…slave owners would rape female slaves and force them to get pregnant and carry the baby to term.”

So, the 13th Amendment outlaws abortion.

This is an issue of hermeneutics.

Segment 2

Reading historical documents require us to know what the original author intended.

4 Principles adhered to by the historical, grammatical hermeneutic:

1. The literal principal

2. Scripture doesn’t say one thing to one person and another thing to someone else.

3. Scripture should be understood by the original author’s intent

4. Consider historical context to support the interpretation

The Synthetic principle insists Scripture interprets Scripture.

Clear verse guide and rule unclear verses to make them plain.

Segment 3

The arguments from the left contain lots of projection and blame-shifting these days.

We see it all over liberal media like The NY Times.

The accusations being hurled about conservatives by liberals are things liberals are actually doing themselves.

Here are some of the arguments they’re using.

From The NY Times – “The Supreme Court’s Fighting Words”

“We’ve set the clock back 50 years.”

That’s not even a clear argument.

“A women’s right to get pregnant was key to liberation”

More headlines…

“America the Merciless”

“America’s machinery of death is slowly grinding to a halt.”

“How to discipline a rogue Supreme Court”

Segment 4

The NY Times aren’t the only ones upset over RvW.

Lots of church denominations and high profile leaders are celebrating the decision, but some are upset.

Beth Moore, Russell Moore, Joyce Meyer are others are being very silent at the moment.

David French – where has he been?

SBC currently struggling with the role of women in the church.

This is problematic and calls for thinking through some of these issues.

The Episcopal Church says Roe v Wade ruling was a blow to everyone.
