Do we (the Church) have anything to offer?
Saddleback Church – The retiring pastor delivered the first sermon he ever delivered as the last sermon. It was full of pragmatism.
The tendency of the seeker sensitive model is focus more on the outside than than the inside.
We have a lot of hurting kids out there. The demand for care is outpacing counselors.
We do not bring people to biblical counseling, we bring them to Christ first.
Segment 2
From WND.com – Conservatives claim to be happier than liberals.
This means we have to be very careful to how we respond to those who are feeling anxious and lonely.
How do we get to the root of the problem?
Without the Old Testament we do not have the New Testament.
By not instructing our children to dive deep into the word, we are not helping them.
Segment 3
The Old Testament is more physical, while we see more of a spiritual encounter in the New Testament.
In the Second Century, Marcion was deemed a heretic and shown the door for suggesting the Old Testament should be canned.
Prosperity preachers tend to do the opposite and spend their time only in the Old Testament.
Carl Trueman claims the Queen was a quiet, but devoted Christian.
Segment 4
It’s a sign of the times when you see a generation increasingly quitting.
We can be too consumed by work, but that doesn’t mean we go to the opposite extreme.
