Why does Handel’s Messiah endure?
There was much thought that went into our churches.
How does music of today compare?
Every church should be striving to produce music that speaks a loftier word.
We don’t want to become strict legalists when it comes to worship, but there should be thought put into it.
What do the advent candles represent?
The over-arching theme for every sermon and worship service should be Law/Gospel.
Worship services speak. We should consider what we’re saying to God and the world around us.
Who is the God we are worshiping? What are the elements He expects to be part of our worship service?
What should a regulative worship service include?
1. Seeks to honor God and His word.
2. Keeps focus on God-centered worship.
3. Eliminates worldliness
4. Consult Bible rather than popular opinion.
The relative principle can become legalistic. The normative principle includes things not expressly forbidden in the Bible.
How might your worship principles be regulated? Regulative or Normative.
We need to be the best workers, not the worst workers. Christians aren’t quiet quitters.
Is the world more passionate about their sinful lifestyles than we are about living in righteousness?
Is the world more concerned in promoting all forms of false religions that we are about the Gospel?
Are we promoting the Gospel as intensely as they are all forms of licentiousness?
