THE FINE LINE BETWEEN BEREAN AND JERK

It’s Mailbag Friday! How do you know if you’re being a Berean, a Pharisee, or sinfully critical?

Wretched Radio | Air Date: April 19, 2024

It’s Mailbag Friday! You have questions. We have answers.

If you have any questions, comments, conundrums, snarks, or ideas send them to [email protected].

Segment 1

I am getting married soon, and I’ve been troubled by the thought of not being married in heaven. I know marriage is a picture of Christ and His church, but how do I take comfort in knowing that I won’t have the same relationship with my wife in Heaven? -Anonymous

Married couples should be going to the same church together, so what about those engaged or dating and sure they want to marry? In my situation we both attend good churches, each with their own failings and strengths, so how do we choose? -Eunoia

Segment 2

I’ve been very disrespectful when arguing with my girlfriend. How do I argue with her as a Christian? I can admit that I’m stubborn and don’t like compromise. We both admit that there are problems on both sides, but I hate making her feel terrible when we argue. -Zach

How do you know if you’re being a Berean, a Pharisee, or sinfully critical? -Anonymous

Segment 3

Recently, you rightly said we need to pray for those in authority (namely, the President). So, does this include imprecatory prayers? Is it right to pray curses on those who proudly and adamantly stand against the Word of God? -Brandon

I am a Christian and hurt my back. Physical therapy sent me home with stretches to do and some are yoga. I did not realize this till later. Are these ok to do for strictly exercise? -Deborah

Segment 4

I’m Twelve years old and wondering what are your thoughts about listening to hymns sung by non-Christian singers? -Kaleb

It is on my heart to preach the Gospel to those around me, but I don’t know how to start. How can I guide the conversation to be one about the Good News or about the Savior? -Hunter

Is it sinful to have a “pet peeve”? -Anonymous

I feel that my conscience has become a little too strong (not as tender as it used to be). What should I do? -Jeff
